HISTORY/PROFILE

J. E. Stewart Builders, Inc. was founded in 1955 by J. E. Stewart, Sr.  Mr. Stewart moved to the Aiken area in 1951 during the construction of the Atomic Energy Commission's Savannah River Plant.  Seeing the need in the Aiken area for a quality Home Builder, Mr. Stewart formed Stewart Builders in 1955.  For the first 10 years, Stewart Builders was primarily concerned with home building, but in the mid 1960's the company became more diversified and entered into the commercial and industrial field.  As the company began to grow, Stewart Builders became incorporated in January 1972.

Now run by J. E. Stewart, Jr., the company has advanced by leaps and bounds.  The company is engaged in design, engineering and construction of all types of commercial and industrial buildings.  Stewart Builders uses design flexibility, superb engineering, state-of-the-art technology, and advanced construction techniques.

Stewart Builders is a capable, well-structured company that offers many services to the construction buyer.  Our home office has been located in Aiken, South Carolina for more than 55 years, but we have performed projects throughout South Carolina and surrounding states.  Stewart Builders believes that skilled workmen, receiving good wages, are more productive and provide higher quality work, resulting in greater economic benefits.  This philosophy has produced direct benefits to our customers on every project.

Every project is centered around the unique needs of the owner.  Utilizing a TEAM approach, we work together with the owner, design professionals and subcontractors to produce a well-planned design within the budget constraints of the individual project.
